Bill Crandall
May 12th, 2009Photographer and photography editor from Washington DC, USA. His works have been published in Das Magazin, Hollands Diep, PHOTO, NY Times Mag, Newsweek, Le Figaro, NY Times, Washington Post, among many others.
He has traveled across Eastern Europe for a ten-year body of work called East, looking at the evolution of the region since the end of communism. He has received an ArtsLink grant and a US government cultural grant for the East series and has exhibited in several countries.

May 12th, 2009“My work is more like a letter. A Photograph is enclosed in the envelope. The envelope is sealed, a stamp is on it, there are only a couple of words on it: “Addressee” and “Destination”. It will be thrown into a postbox, but will the envelope reach the destination? And what destination will it be?
A Photograph is a letter with no destination to the future…”
