Photography as an Object of Collecting

The School of Photography welcomed Cristelle Rochette with her seminar “Photography as an Object of Collecting”. The vice-head keeper of collections of Nicephore Niepce museum spoke about the museum, its history and collections, the museum’s objectives, as well as modern tendencies in museum development in France.

Sharing her impressions about her visit to Belarus Cristelle admitted she rather pursued to satisfy her own curiosity for Belarus still remains an unknown country for most of Europe. She was surprised to find a quite active photographic life in Minsk while in Europe, she says, the interest to photography tends to fade out, though the prices for photography have become amazingly high recently.

The seminar was organized with the support of the Embassy of France in the Republic of Belarus.
